overview

in collaboration between Trigger and Sesame Street Workshop, we created the Big Bird's Words, an app that help teach children how to read.

the augmented reality app is developed using Vuforia's text recognition feature. originally showcased at CES 2013, the app recognizes thousands of words.

how it works

Big Bird guides children through an illustrated 'find the word' activity and then prompts them to find the words in the real world using the app's Word-O-Scope. When found, kids are shown how the word relates to others on a word tree screen.
